Grassington - North Yorkshire Market Towns
Home Market Towns (A-L) Market Towns (M-Z)

Located in the Yorkshire Dales, Grassington lies at the heart of Upper Wharfedale and the Limestone Dales. Known locally as a village, Grassington’s character is that of a small town. Indeed, its charter for a weekly market and annual fair was granted in 1282.

A range of historic buildings look out onto Grassington’s cobbled market square – the 17th Century Church House, 18th Century Grassington House with its tall sash windows, the Black Horse Coaching Inn and the Devonshire Arms.

Grassington provides an excellent base for touring and exploring the Yorkshire Dales, and especially the high moorland and riverside walks of Upper Wharfedale. The views across the Dales are breathtaking at all times of the year.
